ID 26-0580 Consider adoption of an ordinance of the City of Denton canvassing the returns and declaring the results of the General Municipal Election to elect City Council Members to Place 5, Place 6, and Mayor to Place 7, and the Special Municipal Election for the purpose of filling a vacancy in District 1 and District 2 for the unexpired term ending in May 2027, held on May 2, 2026; declaring that no candidate received the majority of votes cast for Places 5 and 7 (Mayor) in the General Municipal Election and that a Runoff Election is ordered to be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026; authorizing Runoff Election Day polling locations; and providing an effective date.
