No, as a Texan who values his independence and privacy, I strongly object to anything that is being used to promote and help further the use of autonomous surveillance. Additionally, the use of AI is extremely harmful to the environment in the amount of water and power that is used to provide the compute power necessary for it to function. These are things that ultimately the citizens pay and not the corporations. If they want to build here, they can do it without the help of our tax dollars.
Oppose. Hurts local water resources both in pollution and in overuse. Hurts local land and wildlife due to disruption of water and overuse of power. Uses too much electricity which would end up getting passed onto the residents of our city.
Absolutely not, it's not worth it. AI is not a sustainable enough industry to justify how wasteful and destructive an expansion like this would be long term. It will never be worth the money, resources or manpower it would take to build or run it.
Absolutely not. The heavy strain on infrastructure and environmental impacts are not only not worth the temporary gain. But actively harmful and pointless long term.
Say no to AI in Denton! These data centers are not only electricity and water hoarders, but contribute nothing to the local community compared to the environmental and noise damage it will cause to the surrounding area/all of Denton
