D. CRC24-028 Receive a report, hold a discussion, and give staff direction on implementing a trigger amendment stating that if gay marriage is struck down in the courts and left not protected by the state of Texas, then "civil unions" will receive all the same benefits and restrictions currently applied to marriages in the city's codes, ordinances, and charter.

I support this trigger amendment as long as the current wording ""civil unions" will receive all the same benefits and restrictions currently applied to marriages" wouldn't restrict civil unions to opposite sex couples should same sex marriage be outlawed by the state.
What is wrong with yall? this helps noone and harms many. Waste of tax dollars.
